After doing some research we found a potential artist; James Blunt. We looked into some of his songs using YouTube and finally came upon the song "Goodbye My Lover". We listened to this song and printed off the lyrics and worked out we could have a narrative for this song following the theme of a death between a couple. As a group we worked out that this could be a potential music video we are capable of making considering the facilities and funding we have.
We realised that with this music video we would be able to use a variety of locations and shot types which would mean that our music video would entertain audience and connect them with the song which is playing.
We as a group made a story board plotting out these shots and locations with timings that were detailed. We then had to choose who was playing each character and conducted auditions to do so. We narrowed it down and have now chosen the final three characters to be in our music video.
Alastair Morrison and Lewis Bulmer
What happens
After we had chosen the song "Goodbye my lover" we wanted to make the storyline about a man saying goodbye to his woman. We then had the idea that the man will be almost talking after he died to the woman. We wanted to portray this with a few fade shots of him with the woman when he's alive and then when he's gone. We will then have the artist as a different character and then the male and female characters.
How we will cut it
Following tradition for music videos we will be having a lot more cuts within this piece. However we will be having slow paced editing to fit in with the sadness of the song and copy the generic conventions that are seen within James blunts other music.
