James Blunt - Goodbye My Lover
This is the music video that we will be using for our final piece. So to keep in the same style of the artist we will have to analyse the original and pick up on some generic conventions that may be shown throughout the genre. From this video we like the way that it has separate actors playing the artist and then when it cuts to him alone lip syncing.
Split Screen Ideas
In our piece we would like to include a few split screen shots to show the difference in then and now. There is a split screen used through the whole of this video so from watching this we could then pick up a few good shots that have been done and adapt them to our storyline.
Relationship in music videos
This video gives us an idea of how relationships are portrayed within music videos. There are a few shots within this music video which we like as the whole of the video again is filmed in split screen.
films for inspiration
Above is a trailer for safe haven. This particular film is about relationship and death. From studying about this film we will be able to gain some knowledge in certain things that we wish to include in our film. Such as the lighting and filter effects they use.
We conducted this research to give us an idea of what we need to include when we come to make our music video. We will be able to identify key conventions in which we can use. The videos above compare to our genre via death and the music style. We can now use some of these videos for inspiration , helping us create a professional looking video.
